Foxes:
All photos taken with Canon t4i and 75-250 Canon or Sigma 150-500 lens.
This series of fox pictures were taken this year (2013) at two separate locations in the Charlottetown area.
This same lady was on her way back to the dens when she spotted me and stopped to let me know that I had been seen. the look in her eyes tell it all!
Another shot of her doing what she does best. Keeping me at a distance while keeping an eye on her pups. She would wander in large circles around the dens watching me and keeping her distance as to lead me away if possible.
Can only imagine what this lady is thinking with six pups looking for a snack. She must be saying to her self, "Why, why six!"

Another Mom!
This is a different female and a couple of her pups at a different location. They were just relaxing and enjoying the day.
This is one of the first photos of foxes that I had taken. As you can see they are hunting under the snow for mice. They were successful and it was cool to see how they jump up in the air to break through the snow and pounce on the mice. Smart guys/girls.

Where the photos are taken
Most of the bird photos below were taken in my back yard shown below. There are plenty of nesting areas and different trees form them to take shelter in. I try to keep the feeders full, have lots of patience and wait for the visitors to come.
Birds:
This is a photo of a Red Winged Blackbird. It took me a long time and patience to be able to get this guy to stay in one place while I took his picture. He and his wife are regular visitors to my feeders on the deck.
Hard to believe that this is the mate to the bird above, but it is. She visits usually separately from her man above.
This is the result of Dad and Mom Red Winged Blackbird. This almost
full grown baby is on his/her own now. Can't tell if it is a male
or female..

One of my favorite birds is the Mourning Dove. Very shy and gentle.
This beautiful pair of doves nest and feed at our place. Such a pleasure to watch
them as they are so gentle and peaceful birds.
I think that this is probably one of the most popular birds around as they can be trained to eat out of your hand. Very adorable little fellow.
Not sure what this little guy is ..... If anyone recognizes him leave a comment and I will name him!
This is a of course a Golden Finch. Very pretty little male.

Another Red Winged Blackbird
Bluejay photo shot at the feeder. These guys are such pigs at a feeder. :~)
Not quite sure what this Jay was all about with this pose, but I liked it anyway..
I've been trying to get a good shot of one of these little woodpeckers for
a while. Finally was able to get one to stay still while I took his picture.
This is of course the popular Black Bird, wandering around looking for a bite to eat. Actually this photo is a test photo for a lens that I just purchased. Sigma 150-500 and this is shot at the full extension of the lens (500mm).
And of course the famous and plentiful Mr. Crow.
This was taken at Borden, PEI, as the guys were flying overhead.
Very rare bird on P.E.I... the Seagull
This is a juvenile Bald Eagle taken in Borden, PEI. He was nice enough to stay around long enough to let me get some close shots of him.

Just a shot of him as he was leaving the area.
This juvenile was just sitting on top of a spruce tree just outside of Charlottetown.
A little effect was added as you can clearly see.
This is a shot of a Osprey that was taken in late August in the Rustico area. I was in his territory and you can see his eyes just glaring at me!
This is a different Osprey. You will note that he has a flatfish in talons and heading back home with dinner.
Odds and Ends
This little guy was taken at the Butterfly House in New Glasgow
Another New Glasgow resident Great Blue Heron
Same place but different bird. Both these pictures were taken standing on the bridge
in New Glasgow.
This family just out for a swim in pond in Cornwall.

Couple of almost mature black ducks having a little swim.
Not sure if this is Dad taking part of the family for a little outing or not..
Seems to be in charge thought :-)
Mr. Bumble Bee, Hard guy to get to stay still.
Mr. Bee spending a little time on my rose bush.
This cute little Chipmunk would fill his cheeks with sunflower
seeds, take off and hide them and then come back for another
load of seeds. Very cute to watch.
This is the same guy as above before he started his feast!
This little guy is now a regular visitor to the feeder. Not sure where he is storing
all the seeds that he takes with him when he leaves!
This was taken at Scales Pond in Freetown. They are currently rebuilding
the dam which was washed out a few years ago. Going to be a beautiful
spot when all is completed.
This was taken at Wheatley River. There is a little added element to this picture
that wasn't there in the original photo!! :-)
As you can see this was taken just below the dam in Vernon River. Not really
a scene, just a picture of running water!
